Football & Crafts...A Southern Girl's Dream!

Football and crafts...not two things you'd usually think of going together. But I'm here to tell you that they do. Well, at least they did yesterday. As I mentioned before in a previous post, I'm making homemade scarves and selling them to help with my fundraising. Last week Laurie and I made about 25 scarves, and by Wednesday it became pretty clear I was going to need a lot more, and fast! So, we decided to call in the reinforcements! Being from the south, I totally understand the importance of college football Saturdays, so we decided to combine two of our favorite things...football & crafts!

Yesterday, several girls from my Sunday school class came together to help me make scarves while we watched football. (Yes, we do actually watch football.) Here are a few pictures of the festivities:

First we got all the supplies organized by color.
Please note the football game already playing on the TV before we ever got started.

Then we all worked together to make a variety of scarves in various colors.

Katie especially enjoyed making the red/black/white ones!

Look at that! Auburn and Alabama fans working together!

Kacey even got some Samford Bulldogs scarves into the rotation.

All-in-all, we ended up making 55 scarves, all the while cheering our teams on to win (well, most of them at least).
We had a great time! Special thanks to Laurie, Kacey, Callie, Stacey, Kaylie, Blythe, Katie, & Kimsey for all their help! I am so thankful to have these wonderful ladies in my life! Not only are they praying for me as I move forward in this journey, but they were also excited to join in on the hands-on part of fundraising. With the way things are going, something tells me we'll be combining football and crafts again in the future!
