So Much To Tell!!
There's so much to tell you all about what we've experienced this week. I don't have much time right now, but I promise to go into more details later. Now that I'm staying at the Nilsen's house for the next week I'll have plenty of internet access and I can post more detailed accounts of what we've been doing and what the Lord has been teaching me. I have about 30 minutes before I leave to go to a "club" with Maria Clara, who is the CEF missionary who does children's ministry here on the islands. I'll actually be helping her out this evening and spending the night with her and several children at a retreat. I'm not sure what to expect, but I'm very excited, and I promise to take pictures! For now, here's a quick overview of what we've been up to:
Painting and tiling the bathhouse!
Mr. Harvey cutting in the corners for painting!
Mr. Russell Brooks, CEF Director of Development for Europe, even came all the way from Scotland to help us out!
On Tuesday night we went down to the Pria Marina! We've met two families who live on their boats and have stopped here for a while as they sail around the world. One of the families (2 parents & 4 kids) has been living on their boat for almost 5 years!
The beautiful view of Priam Marina at night!
Meeting Maria Clara's Mother!
Jim and Ben working hard to dig out a place for the sidewalk!
Mr. John & Mr. Harvey filling in the dirt on top of the septic tank!
Sara & I took another walk down to the coast!
Cows just parade down the road to get to their new fields!
Our entire team, including all our new friends after we'd finished working on Thursday night!
As you can see, we've been busy and have had a great time. We got a ton of work done at the camp, and it is very close to being ready for campers this summer! The rest of the team left to head back to Birmingham just a couple hours ago, but I am so excited to stay another week. I'll post again soon to tell you more about our experiences (and I'm sure I'll have more as the week progresses)! Now, I'm off to a retreat!!
