From Airplanes To Splatter Paint
We've been here for 3 days and it is AMAZING!! We arrived around lunchtime on Saturday. Please notice the very small plane in the background that has 37 seats on it. This is the plane that finally brought us to Terciera.
Saturday afternoon we spent some time getting settled in, exploring the camp, and enjoying the island. Obviously I took the first opportunity I had to walk down to the coast and see the Atlantic Ocean. If you go due south from this point the next piece of land you come to will be Antartica!!
Yesterday morning we attended worship at Azorean Baprtist Church. It was a fantastic service. I was really impressed by how I could tell that even though the congregation is small, they were there because they genuinely wanted to worship the Lord. Here's a picture of the team (John & Suzie Bell, Harvey Burch, Lyn Malcolm, & Charlotte McDanal) eating at the church pot-luck with Mrs. Deb Nilsen and Mr. Russell Brooks (CEF Project Director).
After church we spent the afternoon enjoying the sights of the "big" city of Angra.
We enjoyed some yummy ice cream from a local cafe and then walked around in a local garden. My new friend Sara Nilsen had a really great time playing on the fountain!!
Today we started work on the camp. There were several things happening at once...brick laying, weeding the garden, and painting the bathhouse. I was on the painting crew. We're about halfway done, and we're having fun doing it! Here's a glimpse of what I looked like at the end of the day.
As you can tell, we are having a WONDERFUL time! I am loving it so much, and I can't wait to share more about it! I'll update again in a few days. Until then, please keep praying for us. I can definitely feel your prayers, and I am so thankful for your support on this journey!

I work with your Dad & he had your Mother give me your Blogsite. How awesome & inspiring to read how you are seeking God & allowing Him to work in & through you by following His calling. It is a reminder, after reading your words, that we can learn from others, no matter their ages & apply that in our own lives. I pray for greater wisdom & that I too will seek Him more in my life. May God richly bless you in your comings & goings for Him & keep you & all you're traveling with safe & protected. K Anderson
