Filled With Hope

So, I meant to post this last Monday, but the busyness of the season has apparently taken over...oops. Better late than never I guess...

"I'll miss you Miss Ansley."
I must have heard that at least a hundred times last Friday as I spent one last afternoon saying goodbye to my After the Bell kiddos. I don't think it has really sunk in yet that I won't be going back to work on Monday morning, and I won't see these kids for at least a year. The last two and a half years have been such a blessing to me. I've learned and grown so much, both personally and in ministry, and I couldn't be more thankful. I'm thankful for the challenges that have brought about hard lessons, the friendships that have grown through sharing in ministry, and the blessing of stepping away knowing that I'm supported, loved, and prayed for by my Shades family.

It's hard to leave. It's hard to hug a sweet 7 year old with tears in her eyes without shedding my own. But even in those toughest moments, I'm so thankful that this goodbye is a hopeful one. I'm filled hope for the future of the ministries at Shades, and I'm filled with hope for the ministry that the Lord has called me to in the Azores. I'm sure there are many more tearful goodbyes ahead over the next few weeks, but they will be sweet tears filled with the hope of Jesus!

I'm going to miss these sweet kiddos!!
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope." Romans 15:13
